Rapper Timal posted a video on Snapchat where he repeatedly kicks his dog. The association for the defense of animals 30 million friends announces that it has filed a complaint.
Rapper Timal under fire from critics. In a video posted on Snapchat on Tuesday, he shows himself kicking his dog several times. The dog looks visibly frightened. In the extract, the rapper justifies this punishment by showing that his dog urinated on the ground. Another post shows the dog with a muzzle, and Timal insists the abuse was for “education”.
The video was taken up on Twitter, with many Internet users condemning the gesture. Some are calling for a boycott of the artist, who posted a clip with rapper Booba a few days ago.
Sentences of up to prison
The 30 million friends foundation, dedicated to the defense of animals, took up the case. In an article on her site, she “condemns this cruel act and is alarmed at the use, by certain celebrities, of social networks to promote animal abuse”.
30 million friends also indicates that they immediately made a report on Pharos, the platform for combating illegal content on the Internet. The association also claims to have filed a complaint for animal abuse, and obtained the “safety of the animal”.
The association finally recalls another case of animal abuse shared online by a celebrity. Earlier this year, French footballer Kurt Zouma punched his cat in a video. He had had the animals taken away from him and was sentenced to community service. In France, penalties for animal abuse can go up to three years in prison and a fine of 45,000 euros.
