Crushed chairs. A collapsed wall. Friday, June 24, around 8:30 a.m., a motorist lost control of his car, an Audi, before driving into the room of the restaurant Le Bel Air, located avenue de Valence, in the center of Châteauneuf-sur-Isère. The driver and his passenger, who were slightly injured, were taken care of by the fire brigade.
“Despite everything, we were really lucky! “says Omar Madfai, the restaurant manager. “I was at the counter with customers when I heard a loud noise. Fortunately, no one was in the room! With my cook, who is also a volunteer firefighter, we rescued the driver and his passenger. Then help arrived very quickly. Despite the damage, the most important thing is that there are no serious injuries”.
Omar Madfai specifies: “We are now awaiting the passage of the experts to find out if we can open the restaurant”.
The gendarmes of the company of Romans-sur-Isère carried out, on the spot, the first observations.
