The first in France
“If the facts are proven, proof will be demonstrated that the protection by the institutional control authorities is insufficient and must be supported by a real individual and adapted defense. Aware of the need to protect those whom age has made vulnerable, the Bordeaux Bar is the first bar in France to have created an Institute for the Defense and Protection of Seniors (IDPS).
“It is a question for lawyers”, details the press release, “to promote a multidisciplinary approach to this period of life (ethical, medical, sociological and obviously legal) and to offer seniors, their families, but also carers with appropriate advice to assert their rights, with lawyers who have chosen to invest in old age”.
With the IDPS, chaired by Me Myriam Sebban, “lawyers leave their offices to go to those who no longer have the strength to defend themselves and offer consultations in town hall, and soon with institutions or establishments”.
