Several Kinder range products, manufactured in a factory in Belgium?, were recalled in early April due to suspected Salmonella Typhimurium contamination. As of May 4, 81 cases of salmonellosis with a strain belonging to the epidemic have been identified by the National Reference Center for Salmonella at the Institut Pasteur, indicates Public Health France. Among which, three cases in Brittany.

At the same time, health investigations have been carried out since a link was established between the consumption of Buitoni frozen pizzas and several dozen cases of serious infections (hemolytic and uremic syndromes and E. coli). As of May 4, 56 confirmed cases have been identified in France. Of this total, 55 are children (between 1 and 17 years old, with a median age of 6 years old). Brittany has 6 cases.

“The total number of cases linked to the consumption of these pizzas has stabilized since the withdrawal-recall”, notes Public Health France.
