Cats adopt kitten with torticollis and insist on keeping it

Haley Waugh is a volunteer leader at the Front Street Animals shelter in Sacramento, California (USA). She took in a little feline tabby who had his head bowed, a kind of torticollis and problems with one of his pupils. Haley’s surprise upon returning home was the reaction of her pets.

The kitten struggled to keep her balance and do things on her own despite her condition. Once home, Haley tried to give him a space where he would be safe.

Haley told Love Meow:

“I called her Tortellini because of torticollis disease, which causes tilting. »

Cats adopt kitten with tilted head

Tortellini arrived with a very low weight, but the love of his new foster family and a careful diet allowed him to develop. The adorable kitten tilted her head every time her mistress entered the room; he felt safe and just wanted to play and be cuddled.

With care and medication, the kitten recovered from her ear infection and started to be more buoyant in just a few weeks. He ran around the room curiously and was soon ready to meet the other cats.

Haley says:

“Treating the infection did not affect his head tilt. The vet thinks he will probably still have it. This does not prevent him from being a happy and playful kitten. »

When Tortellini met Waylon and Ruben, the house cats, he immediately sought to win their affection. He gently nuzzled his new brothers’ fur, and the two cats immediately attached to him.

Waylon and Ruben took care of the little kitten, and took turns keeping him company. Thus, the feline was never alone and always had someone to cuddle him.

Haley says:

“He’ll probably be hunched over for the rest of his life, but apart from falling over and sometimes being dumber, he’s basically a normal cat. »

When the kitten fully recovered from its infections and was ready to be adopted, Haley realized that his cats had already made up their minds and that Tortellini was part of the family. They had a great bond and did everything together.

Haley added:

“I had wanted to adopt Tortellini for some time, but I had to try to find a perfect adopter. When no one asked about him, I thought it was fate and he was destined to stay where he is. My cats love it even more than me, and I’m so excited to complete my cat family. »

According to Haley, the playful kitten has adapted perfectly to her new role and is spending time with her siblings, even though she still wants to be first in everything despite her siblings being much bigger. They love it and let it be What he wants.

Tortellini has certainly found the perfect family, and his brothers Ruben and Waylon spoil and protect him every day.
