Ixelles: Two restaurants in violation were closed last weekend

The five businesses in Ixelles visited last weekend during a control action carried out by the Brussels-Ixelles police, the Labor Auditor, the National Social Security Office (ONSS), the Institute of Auditors companies (IRE) and the Federal Public Service Finance have been fined for infractions, local police announced on Thursday. Two of them were put under seal. A total of 10 undeclared workers were arrested.

In a grocery store where two people were working illegally, there were also two illegal residents. The police also found three violations. Shortcomings in the accounting of the trade were also noted.
A pizzeria has been temporarily closed pending the hearing of the manager on the state of its accounts.
A restaurant with a shisha bar was sealed at the request of the labor prosecutor. The controllers identified 4 students, a DJ and a waiter who worked there without a contract. The accounts were also not in order. Hygiene issues were also noted.
