Le Camondo, this restaurant attached to the Nissim de Camondo Museum, ideally located near Parc Monceau in the 8th arrondissement, is a real gem to discover. Between its beautiful historic spaces, its green terrace and its beautiful fresh cuisine orchestrated by Chef Fanny Herpin, this is a gourmet getaway that we warmly recommend.

the Camondoit’s a bit of the good hidden plan of the rue Monceau. Glued to Nissim de Camondo Museum (this private mansion transformed into a museum of decorative arts showing sublime 18th century furniture) and at the Parc Monceauthis restaurant in the 8th arrondissement and its sublime terrace have something to seduce us.

As soon as you arrive, you are seduced by the places which reveal high volumes with metal columns. It must be said that this classified place was once old stables then transformed into car shed from the home of Moïse de Camondo to whom we owe today the museum inspired by the Petit Trianon, nothing less. A beautiful cocktail bar imposing center stands in front of us, enough to offer beautiful refreshing evenings.

Once past the room part, you discover a second bright room under glass roof, a winter garden where you like to sit in the shelter and which reveals a superb stone fountain. Its bay window overlooks the green paved terrace where various plants and Palm trees come to pay us.

On the kitchen side, it is the chef Fanny Herpin, originally from Bordeaux, who took over the torch in 2020. Former chef of the Restaurant Allard, passed by the Epicure at the Bristol under the wing of Éric Frechon, at the Taillevent with Alain Solivérès, Fanny Herpin cut her teeth in the House Ducasse successively at the Hotel Byblos, at the Pinch, at the Jules Vernes, at the Meurice with Christophe Saintagne and at Benoit.

Suffice to say that the big houses, she knows and at only 32 years old, it is a beautiful cuisine that she delivers to us. A light and responsible cuisine with slow cooking and low fat, a real treat. No good cuisine without good products, the chef, in her responsible approach, likes to find quality products directly from producers and in a short circuit.

We thus find fruits and vegetables market gardener Christophe Latour in the Lot-et-Garonne, poultry, veal and lamb from the Ferme de Tauziet, and fish transported by The Barges that Tom Saveurs buys from small boats in Saint-Jean-de-Luz, Cap Breton and the Pyrenees for the first and on the Atlantic Coast for the second. No good table without good point, for this pointit’s Jean-Luc Poujauran and his sourdough bread which delights us.

Side good planwe notice Little Peche at Camondo all the Saturday noon. In love with seafood and defender of the sustainable fishing, Fanny Herpin offers us every Saturday a fish dish according to the arrival and inspiration. If you like fish and want to go on pout, horse mackerel, gurnard, mule and other unknown julienne to delight you, here is a good plan not to be missed. At 18€ the Petite Pêche and 22€ the dish accompanied by a homemade iced tea, you will not be disappointed.

On the menu, there are summer dishes that seduce our taste buds. At the entrance, we let ourselves be seduced by the Burratina on her bed of butternut squash; Organic chicken egg on a bed of white asparagus, Belles du Marsan, Colonnata bacon and grilled buckwheat; the excellent Scottish salmon in gravlax and its cream of peas with lemongrass, radishes and croutons; the Truffle crisps and the sublime Beet Carpaccio with fresh goat cheese and arugula pesto accompanied by mustard caviar. Well seasoned and well seasoned, fresh products ideally prepared, we enjoy.

On the main course, a short offer that may seem classic but no boredom on the plate. We enjoy the Confit suckling pig herbal flavored, sublime Trout from the Pyrenees poached in its broth and melts in the mouth. With its crunchy fresh peas, its whole carrot on its bed of mashed potatoes and its redcurrant emulsion, it’s a marvel. That day, the dish of the day offered a delicious Roasted line grouperwith colored beets, horseradish cream and haulm condiment, a great discovery.

For dessert, we highly recommend the Vanilla rice pudding. Not very sweet and skilfully garnished with crispy black rice and a drizzle of caramel, it is divine. If pastry is your thing, you can opt for two pastries from Nina Metayer (the chocolate pie for us). Finally, with sunny days, it’s hard not to fall for the ICES from home Glazed.
