Loir et Cher. She kills her neighbor because of the barking of the dog

The tragedy took place on Sunday evening, shortly before 10 p.m. in Soings-en-Sologne (Loir-et-Cher). A 51-year-old woman fatally shot her 80-year-old neighbor, the Blois prosecutor said on Tuesday.

The firefighters found the octogenarian dead, hit by gunfire and found lying in the immediate vicinity of his sofa. The autopsy confirmed that the shots fired one on the right side and the other on the left side of the victim were the cause of death.

“Someone had to kill her”

In police custody, the respondent explained the reasons for his gesture, which may seem disproportionate: the barking of his neighbor’s dog. The fifty-year-old indeed explained to the investigators that she had “frequent and regular verbal altercations with her neighbor”, the victim, on this subject.

Unknown to justice, she said she left her home between 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. armed with one of the four hunting rifles she had at home with two cartridges. “She showed up at the gate of neighbors screaming that she was going to ‘kill her'”. Disarmed by her neighbors at first, she then returned home, repeating “that ‘someone had to kill her'”.

Moments later, two shots were heard. “The lady had taken a new rifle from her home, entered her neighbor’s house by climbing a fence and then shot her twice,” continues the press release from the prosecution.

She was indicted on Tuesday for “premeditated intentional homicide” and remanded in custody. She faces life imprisonment.

The Romorantin-Lanthenay research brigade was responsible for the investigation.
