A motion already adopted

In Nice, the general assemblies of magistrates and civil servants of the Nice judicial court passed a motion recalling that “the substantial and lasting increase in material resources and in the number of registry officials and magistrates, today constitutes one of the essential conditions for the independence of the judicial authority and the capacity of the institution to fulfill its public service missions for the benefit of all citizens, both in civil and criminal matters. The Bar Association adopted a motion of support.

“It’s a national movement and in Nice we also observe this deterioration with hearings that end very late due to a lack of magistrates and civil servants,” adds the trade unionist.

Lawyers join the movement

All the files scheduled for that day will be returned to mark this event, with the exception of emergencies and criminal.

“On Monday, the Aix-en-Provence Court of Appeal wrote to me for a hearing on January 24 which is postponed without a new precise date because the clerk is requisitioned for criminal proceedings” describes Xavier Fruton, of the Union of Young Lawyers, as an example of the many delays in the justice system due to lack of staff. Lawyers will be present during this gathering scheduled for 1:30 p.m. in front of the courthouse to support the movement, “it is difficult to render quality justice by carrying out slaughter. »
