The woman wants at all costs to keep her home, but also her animal according to the New York Post.

“I have nothing to lose and everything to gain so I decided to marry off my cat (…) I refuse to be separated from her. I’d rather live on the street than without it,” says Ms. Hodge.

She had already had to part with two dogs five years ago due to similar regulations and it broke her heart.

“She is the most important person in my life after my children,” she says.

India was hit by a car a few years ago and the cat had to have a leg amputated.
