When Osho, the kitten, was found in a junkyard, he was ” covered in dirt, was underweight and infested with fleas”.
The unfortunate kitten also had a painful ruptured abscess in her right eye, which eventually had to be removed by the team at animal welfare charity Blue Cross.
One-eyed kitten found in junkyard finds new home
Carys Curwood, Newport Blue Cross Animal Welfare Assistant, said: “We bathed him and fixed his eye and had to wait a few weeks until it was strong enough to remove. »
He is a brave little soul and thrives despite his ordeal. Since then, Osho has undergone surgery to remove his eye.
“He is now at an ideal weight for his age, has an incredible appetite and spends his days playing with his toys” says Carys.
Carys has indeed looked after the little kitten 24 hours a day since being taken into the care of Blue Cross.
The staff called him Osho because his raccoon tail reminded them of the character from the animated movie of the Studio Ghibli, Pom Poko.
Osho took weeks to recover, but the kitten is now on its way to a new life, having been booked for adoption just in time for Christmas.
The woman who saved him said : “ He is so cute. I’m not surprised we were able to find him a new home so quickly. We wish him a very happy Christmas in his new home.”
