Patrick Balkany: his lawyers announce his release from prison this Friday

The former mayor of Levallois-Perret returned to prison in February 2022 due to numerous breaches of his obligations. It will be released this Friday August 5th.

Faced with justice on several occasions, it is a new turn in the life of Patrick Balkany. The former mayor of Levallois will be released from prison and will therefore be released this Friday, August 4. The Paris Court of Appeal confirmed his conditional release.

“This decision is irreproachable in law, because nothing in this case justifies the continued detention of a 73-year-old man who has already served two thirds of his sentence”react the lawyers Robin Binsard and Romain Dieudonné.

Patrick Balkany was detained for five months for tax evasion. He was then released on an electronic bracelet for health reasons in February 2020. More recently, the latter returned to prison in February 2022in Fleury-Mérogis, due to numerous breaches of its obligations, according to justice.

Upon hearing the news, his wife Isabelle Balkany posted a message on Twitter.
