PURINA PRO PLAN Sterilized salmon-rich kibbles are recalled
The first of the products recalled by Nestlé Purina PetCare is consisting of 3 batches “PURINA® PRO PLAN® Sterilized Adult 1+, Rich in Salmon”. More specifically, it is kibble for sterilized adult cats “Sterilized adult rich in salmon” packaged in : 400 g bag; 3 kg bag; and bag of 10 kg + 2 kg offered.
It is possible to identify these products thanks to the following identification elements:
- barcode number 7613036075534, lot 1324091108 and date of minimum durability 31/05/2023;
- barcode number 7613033560064, lot 1324091104 and date of minimum durability 05/31/2023;
- barcode number 7613033564642, lot 1325091106 and date of minimum durability 31/05/2023.
Furthermore, this cat food has been sold between November 20, 2021 and April 13, 2022 in points of sale throughout France.
Purina also recalls PURINA PRO PLAN Original Kitten Rich in Chicken
4 batches of “PURINA® PRO PLAN® Original Kitten 1 to 12 months, Rich in Chicken” kibbles for kittens are also the subject of a voluntary recall campaign. These recalled foods are sold in 3 kg and 10 kg bags, as well as in 400 g sachets.
Products can be identified using the following information:
- barcode number 7613036505307, batch 1325091108 and date of minimum durability 31/05/2023;
- barcode number 7613036505307, batch 1351091108 and date of minimum durability 30/06/2023;
- barcode number 7613036505277, lot 1324091104 and date of minimum durability 05/31/2023;
- barcode number 7613036545099, batch 1325091106 and date of minimum durability 31/05/2023.
Furthermore, the 4 batches of “PURINA® PRO PLAN® Original Kitten 1 to 12 months, Rich in Chicken” kibbles for kitten have been marketed from November 20, 2021 to April 13, 2022 across the whole of France.
What is the reason for the recall? And what is the approach for consumers?
These 2 Purina products were recalled due to possible presence of traces of a residue (2-CE) from water treatment used by one of the company’s ingredient suppliers. If you have purchased a product affected by the recall campaign, you are advised not to use it any longer and not to let your cat consume it. It is also advisable to destroy the product.
