She sees a somewhat strange cat in her apartment and quickly realizes that it is not one!
The poor animal absolutely needed to change his life.
Tikam is no ordinary kitten. Yet for a long time he lived the same life as all kittens.
A “cat” like no other
Tikam was living in an apartment in Germany with her landlord until the owner of the building realized that Tikam was a bit strange. She then contacted the authorities who confirmed that Tikam was actually a puma!
But how did a puma end up in a building in Lahr, Germany?
In reality, wildlife trafficking is much more important than one might think. Many animals are torn from their parents or their natural habitat each year in order to be shipped all over the world and sold to individuals.
Unfortunately, these adult wild animals are far too large, dangerous and cumbersome for their families and are then left to their fate, unable to survive on their own since they have always been deprived of their instincts.
Tikam, for example, was only two months old when it was sold and sent to Germany.
A new life for Tikam
After being confiscated by authorities, Tikam was moved to Tierart, a German sanctuary run by Four Paws for animals like him. Although he could never be released back into the wild because he would not survive there alone, Tikam now savors every moment of this new life close to nature, in an environment adapted to him.
A new life opens up for this big cat.
