The brand new Tony and Charlo ready for the summer

The restaurant at 51, rue Saint-Jean-Baptiste in Baie-Saint-Paul underwent a real metamorphosis this winter, making the establishment almost unrecognizable even for its most loyal customers.

It is now in a more spacious and open dining room that the Tony will be able to welcome more customers, still in the rustic and modern decor that we recognize.

It took more than half a million dollars in investment for Anthony Dufour to give life to what he describes as a “more mature and calm” Tony and Charlo. Victim of its popularity, the company had no choice but to reinvent itself:

The work was completed faster than the owner had expected. The second phase, the one that can be described as aesthetic, was to take place in 2023. Surprised at the speed at which his project was progressing, Anthony Dufour finally killed two birds with one stone.

Awaiting certain documents, the 29-year-old entrepreneur cannot confirm the number of additional customers he can receive in his establishment. On the other hand, he does not think he is exaggerating when he says that its reception capacity has probably increased by 30 to 40%. He expects a record season for Baie-Saint-Paul this summer:

In addition to having a makeover, the Tony now has a reinforced structure, the building dating from the 19and century. The kitchen team will benefit from a more adequate workspace with new equipment. The toilets have been moved and enlarged.

Activities resume at Tony et Charlo with the return of Karaoke and Quiz nights, respectively on Thursday May 5 and Wednesday May 11. It should be noted that shows could be presented there shortly, as the configuration of the room now allows all customers to see the artists.

Some work on the exterior facade remains to be expected. Anthony Dufour intends to wait a little before proceeding.
