Late Monday morning, rue Francis-de-Pressensé in Villeurbanne, an individual walking a young American Staffordshire dog stole a phone from the bag of a 32-year-old woman, who was accompanied by a friend. A moment later, the couple passed the suspect on the street and approached him, asking him to return the phone.
He started by denying the theft and then, seeing that the victim was calling the police, he returned his phone to him. But the police were already on the way, and the individual was arrested and taken with his dog to the police station.
The owner recognizes his dog
During the investigations, the investigators discovered that the association “Pet Alert” had broadcast an announcement following the theft on April 20 of a dog of the same breed aged two and a half months. The photo accompanying the announcement corresponded to the homeless puppy. Contacted by the police, the owner of the stolen animal immediately recognized it and was able to recover it at the police station. In police custody, the defendant denied the facts.
