The police close the restaurant Le Duc

The police proceeded, this Tuesday, May 3, 2022, coinciding with the second day of the Eid El Fitr celebrations, to close the tourist restaurant three forks Le Duc, located in downtown Tunis.

While several other restaurants and bars have resumed service and started serving alcohol again, the managers of the establishment have found themselves forced to fire their customers. Law enforcement told officials they were just following orders.

Exasperated by this abuse, the manager of the restaurant Sondes Zarrouki said that there is no logic in this decision to close, even if the motivations are religious. She pointed out that restaurants in other areas such as Gammarth or El Menzah have not suffered such a decision. She deplored the violation of rights and freedoms, in particular, the freedom of conscience guaranteed by the Constitution.
