This dog named Bumer is waiting for his family at Jorge Chavez Airport in Peru, who abandoned him 6 months ago outside the departure lounge for domestic flights, but unfortunately never came back to pick him up .
Poor Bumer hoped only one day they would show up, but that never happened. Milagros Salazar, posted on Facebook about Bumer and it went viral.
He then wrote:
“Bumer was betrayed in the worst possible way, his family took him to the airport, left him outside the gate, promising to return, but they took a plane never to return. »
A dog has been waiting for his family for 6 months at the airport
Poor Bumer, about 4 years old, is sick, the winter has not been kind to him, and his heart is sad. But he doesn’t give up and lovingly awaits the return of the people he thought he loved.
“He hasn’t moved from that door for six months and there’s no way to convince him to do so, but the streets, the cold and the lack of food have already got the better of him. »
Bumer lived on what the workers and taxi drivers gave him, but he was already malnourished.
“The little dog is very sick, they put her in a cardboard box to ease the cold a bit, but she was stolen (…) Bumer sleeps on a dirty rag and even endures the rain without moving from there, because he is still waiting for the flight he believes will bring his family back.”
“Please, his case breaks our hearts, it’s touching to see him still in this place. If he doesn’t get out of there he will die soon, we urgently need a temporary home, we will take care of Bumer’s adoption, food and medical treatment”.
Milagros’ post was shared on the night of Saturday June 25 and to date has over 2000 reactions, over 700 comments and has been shared nearly 4000 times. Bumer was taken to a veterinary clinic to have his health checked, and the poor dog is suffering from many ailments.
Milagros updated the post saying:
“Unfortunately he has ehrlichiosis, anemia, tvt, all treatable, but he probably also has distemper.”
In addition to the medical care he received, Bumer badly needed the warmth of a home as well.
Bumer has been rescued and is waiting to find a home.
Milagros then explains:
“He couldn’t stay at Magvet, he can’t stand confinement, he cries if he isn’t cuddled. He has suffered a lot and needs a home. The vet told me he couldn’t stay there because there was no room for him. He is of average height, 18 kilos, but his desire to return to the place where he waited for his owners for six months is stronger than him”.
Fortunately, a family decided to give Bumer a chance. Shirley Olivares and her husband Victor actually gave this dog a temporary home to recover from his ailments and regain his strength.
Shirley posted on Facebook:
“Bumer, very brave, now you are not alone, my family is your family. We get all kinds of help through the vet. We don’t have an account and we don’t receive any money, only donations of food and clothing and help from the vet to cover the costs of his illness”.
This family takes Bumer to the vet whenever he needs it for his full recovery and although their resources are limited, the care and love they give this dog, in addition to the gifts that people at large heart do, will surely help bumer to regain health.
We hope that this dog will recover very quickly and will finally be happy.
