Three destinations for a gastronomic and affordable weekend in Wallonia

For a long weekend, a special occasion or for the big holidays: nothing beats a gastronomic weekend! Our good plans for a stay under the sign of luxury and gluttony without breaking the bank.

The Gastronome

For this first stopover, we stop at Paliseul, near the charming town of Bouillon. Crowned with a star in the Michelin Guide and awarded a nice 15/20 by Gault & Millau, Sébastien Hankard and Jean Vrijdaghs, the two young chefs of the Gastronome, delight you with seasonal cuisine that gives pride of place to local products. To extend your stay, the two chefs invite you to one of their 8 contemporary decorated hotel rooms. The Discovery Stay package, which starts at €250 for two people, includes one night in a double room, a 4-course menu and breakfast (allow €280 at weekends).

The address? Rue de Bouillon 2, 6850 Paliseul, reservation here.

The Royal Snail Hotel

Top-of-the-range rooms, bistronomic cuisine signed Carl Gillain, well-being area and breathtaking view – the establishment is located near the city center of Namur, on the banks of the Meuse: this Namur address is ideal for travelers who refuse to make concessions. The right plan to combine city-trip weekend, relaxation and gastronomy. For €279 on weekdays (and €329 on weekends), the Royal package includes one night for two people, two 5-course menus, two breakfast options and one hour of private use of the wellness area. As for the plates, chef Carl Gillain offers audacious and creative bistro cuisine (salmon tartare, seaweed and frozen dashi, crème brûlée with foie gras, risotto with morels and wild garlic). From the taste buds to the eyelids, all your senses will be in turmoil!

The Rose Garden

La Roseraie is a vast peaceful estate, a gourmet restaurant, a 19th century manor-style villa, suites and Shelters, unusual, comfortable accommodation set in the heart of nature. But the Roseraie is above all a family affair! Marie Trignon, the daughter of the former owners, who worked for several big names in the kitchen such as Pierre Résimont, offers an intuitive and creative cuisine, both modern and marked by family traditions. For 295 €, you will stay in one of the three suites of the establishment (allow 30€ more to sleep in a Shelter), you will enjoy a 5-course menu as well as a breakfast, for two .
