Her cat, named Ramsès, was adopted in September 2017 at the Bergerac SPA, and had disappeared on a Sunday in August 2019 after his usual walk. “We looked everywhere, moved heaven and earth, surveyed the neighborhood, put up posters,” says Bergeracoise. In vain. The cat never came home, and after three years its owners were used to the thought of never seeing it again.
Finally, on Saturday, June 4, 2022, when she arrived in Petit Maine, she received a call from the La Cavaille vet telling her that a man had brought back her missing cat. “I’ll let you imagine my astonishment”, comments Dominique Biarnes. She learns that Ramses had been living 5 km from her home since the winter of 2021, in the garden with “guardian angels for tomcats”.
One day the cat gets hurt and the owner of the garden decides to take him to the vet. This is where the animal is identified by its chip.
