Westfield Forum des Halles continues its restructuring and will unveil in September 2022, a huge space dedicated to fashion and catering. A multiplied commercial offer, and a strategic location, at the crossroads of emblematic Parisian monuments and the flow of travelers, which place it at the rank of essential shopping center of the capital.
Westfield Forum des Halles continues its transformation and will inaugurate a renovated wing of the New Forum in September 2022. At the end of the summer it will therefore be possible to discover a new space dedicated to international fashion and one food hall of 10 restaurantsextended over more than 8000 m2.
First shopping center in Europe with 53 million visitors each year, the Forum des Halles was born in 1979 with the metro-RER station Chatelet les Halles and experienced its most extensive metamorphosis between 2011 and 2016. Benefiting from an exceptional location close to emblematic places such as the Louvrethe Pinault Foundation where the George Pompidou Centerthe projectUnibail Rodamco Westfield aims to create new synergies between the UGC cinemacultural venues and the food offer.
“After the metamorphosis of 2011-2016, with the Canopy and the complete renovation of the former Forum des Halles, we had an ultimate architectural challenge to take up: rethink the rue de la Boucle and the Chemetov forum part dating from 1985. We have imagined a “pop” concept to create a new open shopping and food space, “new generation”, faithful to the atypical DNA of the place and the expectations of our visitors. The biggest fashion brands will deploy their new international concept there and the new players in fooding will live to the rhythm of cultural events and UGC cinema. Result: 23 new brands such as Don’t Call me Jennyfer, Jules, Stradivarius, Bershka, Lollipops, Sometimes, who have chosen to establish their new flagship at Westfield Forum des Halles and an offer fast food premium with, among others, KFC, Nachos, Starbucks, Berliner, Lobsta, Lunicco, Twillsons, Franks and even Sushiway (restaurant times will coincide with those of UGC cinema screenings).
The restructuring from New Forum is developed with a view toeco-responsibility :
“Our choice fell on frugality to reduce our carbon footprint by limiting superfluous and useless materials. The signs will not have a window to save glass, the columns will remain in their original state, the lighting will be 100% LED, we have also chosen to leave the ceilings raw, in an industrial spirit, leaving visible technical equipment, to avoid adding false ceilings. In an offbeat spirit, we were inspired by Pop’Art graphics to cover colorful and joyful surfaces with paint on the walls, columns and exposed ceilings. We have opted for the reuse of materials in a short circuit, such as our Burgundy stone floor, the quarries of which were exclusively used for this project. The style and atmosphere of this new wing, through the use of new strong and assumed design codes and attributes, is completely different from the traditional visual aspect of other shopping centres” explains Mathieu TisserandDeputy Director of the Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield Concept Studio.
To further emphasize its commitmentthe mall had already initiated “The Second Life”, a market of second hand since October 2021, and with this new metamorphosis project, Westfield Forum des Halles connect catering brands to the application Too Good To go to fight against food waste.
The advantage of this 20 million euro project: more than 500 jobs will be created by the summer of 2022! Furthermore, a job dating is scheduled for October 2022.
